What Are We Celebrating Here?

In the Book Of Esther the people of God began an annual celebration called Purim.

God didn’t command or require it; they just felt a need to have a few days of celebrating the miraculous events surrounding Esther, Mordecai, Hamman, and the Jews.

Mordecai had the idea that their deliverance from evil was something that needed to be celebrated and remembered forever.

To this day, Jews remember and celebrate.

Do we know what we are celebrating when we gather on Sundays? Do we understand the story of redemption and how God’s intervention saved us from the evil one?

If we forget, we can’t celebrate fully.

This Sunday we will look at the core reason why we celebrate.
